Rezcontrol PMS: Product updates summary – Q1 2022

Are you getting the most out of your Rezcontrol system? The Avondata product team is hard at work finalising new features and functionality every month. Below you can review what has been released for Rezcontrol PMS and what the team has planned for the next quarter.
Room Information
Your reservation team can now preview each hotel room straight from the Planner screen. By clicking on the room number, a pop-up screen will bring up room images and description of the room, for instance view, bathroom layout, and in-room amenities.
Enhancements to events
Earlier this year, we released Rezcontrol’s Event Module. Our Q1 update adds speed and simplicity with the introduction of packages for both corporate and private events – perfect for producing that four-minute quotation.
With more than 278,000 marriages a year in the UK alone your team could be handling hundreds of bookings at any time – and the ability to use predetermined food and beverage selections to quote based on the numbers of guests rather than individual item orders is a real time saver.
Waitlist
New to Rezcontrol PMS in Q1 this year is the Waitlist function – vital when you are fully booked.
In the event of a booking cancellation, Waitlist allows you to rebook a room quickly and easily with guest contact information collected beforehand. This process prevents revenue loss through empty rooms.

Tasks
This function allows you to set reminders for select individuals or groups of users. You may want to link these tasks to a booking for actions such as Champagne on arrival or a flower bouquet in the room. The system also allows you to create stand-alone tasks for general front-of-house or maintenance duties.

Split deposits
The introduction of split deposits provides shared responsibility options for your guests across a group of booked rooms. In a single group booking, guests can secure individual rooms and take ownership for any extra costs incurred during their stay. Equally, in the case of a wedding booking families can opt to split the deposit on behalf of their guests, including function rooms, ahead of the big day.
Derived rates
Rates can now be derived by a percentage and an amount allowing greater rate management flexibility. An example of a use case would be giving 10% discount off a standard B&B rate for an advance purchase plus £10 off for room only.

Upsells and extras
The ability add upsells extras to bookings prior to arrival or during the stay. These items can have prices and inventory against them, making the process quick and accurate.
Event deposit scheduling
Rezcontrol will soon generate automatic payment deposit emails for your events reservations – complete with 3D secure payment links. These emails can be pre-scheduled at the time of the booking, prompting for payments at pre-agreed intervals in the leadup to the event.
